Renovation & Adaptive Reuse
01 / THE BRIEF
Start with the way
people live.
The original rooms were generous but disconnected, with little daylight reaching the centre. The brief was to keep the building’s useful fabric and make it work for contemporary family life.

02 / DESIGN APPROACH
Light gives the
plan its rhythm.
A modest courtyard replaces a cluster of service rooms. New openings align across the plan, revealing the garden from the entrance and making circulation feel like part of the living space.
03 / MATERIAL & CRAFT
Existing stone is retained beside new lime plaster and local terracotta. Oak thresholds mark changes between old and new without turning those junctions into decoration.

04 / THE OUTCOME
The renovation creates a lighter, clearer home while keeping the character of its original walls. Fewer interventions do more work.
“The rooms feel considered without feeling precious. There is a place for everything we do.” — Fictional demo client
