01 / THE BRIEF
Start with the way
people live.
The fictional brief imagined a twelve-room retreat with a shared dining room and spaces for reading. The challenge was to make hospitality feel personal rather than theatrical.

02 / DESIGN APPROACH
Light gives the
plan its rhythm.
A sequence of thresholds gradually reduces the pace of arrival. Guest rooms face planted courts, while shared rooms gather beneath a warm timber canopy. Lighting is low and carefully directed.
03 / MATERIAL & CRAFT
Timber, textured plaster and woven textiles create a consistent material language. Durable surfaces are placed where they work hardest, with softer finishes reserved for places of rest.

04 / THE OUTCOME
The result is a quiet sequence of places to meet, withdraw and return. The architecture gives guests choices rather than prescribing a single experience.
“The rooms feel considered without feeling precious. There is a place for everything we do.” — Fictional demo client
