01 / THE BRIEF
Start with the way
people live.
A creative practice needed flexible work areas, a material library and a space to welcome clients. The existing shell offered height and character, but little acoustic comfort.

02 / DESIGN APPROACH
Light gives the
plan its rhythm.
A freestanding timber volume contains meeting rooms and storage, leaving the perimeter open to daylight. Furniture defines work zones that can change as the practice grows.
03 / MATERIAL & CRAFT
The original concrete is retained. Oak, wool panels and linen curtains temper sound and bring a domestic scale to the industrial volume.

04 / THE OUTCOME
A practical workspace balances concentrated work with conversation. Its layout can adapt without altering the building fabric.
“The rooms feel considered without feeling precious. There is a place for everything we do.” — Fictional demo client
